Visitor Question or Comment:

What are the internal and external peripherals?

Response from ALEGSA.com.ar:

In computers, internal peripherals are those found inside the computer case. For example: hard drives, CD/DVD drives, motherboard, cards, port controllers, etc.

External peripherals are those that are located outside of the computer case. For example, monitors, keyboards, mice, memory readers, etc.

Distinguishing peripherals between internal and external is extremely easy, those that are inside the case or cabinet of the computer, will be considered internal peripherals. Those outside of the case or cabinet will be considered external peripherals.

There are other ways to distinguish the peripherals, for example, taking into account the main flow of data: input peripherals, output peripherals and input-output peripherals.

I suggest reading this article where we distinguish the different components and peripherals of a typical computer: Computer Components

I also suggest reviewing these definitions to delve deeper into the topic:

– Peripheral
