Clarin.com and LaNacion.com.ar are both major news outlets with large audiences in Argentina and throughout the Spanish-speaking world, but for some time they have required their visitors to register if they want to read their articles. What’s more, Clarin.com only allows you to read a few articles per month and then requires you to pay a monthly subscription.
Other newspapers in the region may be or will do the same in the future, but this restriction can be circumvented (at least as of this writing) in the following TWO ways:
– 1 – Browsing a tab in incognito.
There we will be able to browse several articles from both sites without problems, but after reading about 7 or 8 notes, the registration sign will jump. We will have to close all the notes and start a new incognito window.
This method is the fastest, but it is not comfortable because we will have to open the incognito window and we will only be able to read a limited number of articles. To continue reading further we will have to close all incognito windows and reopen them.
– 2 – Restrict website cookies and delete existing ones.
This method is the best, because we can read an unlimited number of articles without problems.
– At the top right, Click on the Google Chrome main menu and then Settings.
– At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
– In the «Privacy» section, click on Content settings.
– In the «Cookies» section, click on Manage exceptions.
– In the «Domain URL» section, enter the web address of the websites to be blocked as follows:
clarin.com
lanacion.com.ar
– In the «Behavior» section, select Block.
– At the bottom right, click Done.
Now we must delete the existing cookies from these sites, so no traces remain as follows.
– At the top right, Click on the Google Chrome main menu and then Settings.
– At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
– In the «Privacy» section, click on Content settings.
– In the «Cookies» section, click on All cookies and site data.
– In the box Search for cookies we write «lanacion.com.ar» and then click on the button Delete all the content displayed.
– Then in the box Search for cookies we write «clarin.com» and then click on the button Delete all the content displayed.
– Click Done.
With this we should be able to access both sites without restrictions.
