Can I be single and happy after 30?

Many women take it for granted that one day we will get married, but what happens if that never happens?

I remember that when I was over 30 I was in a love relationship that satisfied me 100%. He, for me, was the man with whom I wanted to share the rest of my life, however the next step was not taken, he simply never proposed it to me. We finally ended up getting married and so far I can assure you that it hasn’t gone badly for us, but seeing the short 35 years old and singleby Argentine director Paula Schargorodsky, I asked myself, Why did I feel like getting married when I passed the third floor?

Do you feel identified? I do. I remember that when I was over 30 my closest relatives told me “Angie, better separated than single”. When we went to any social gathering as a couple, they immediately asked us «and you for when?». Now that I have been married for several years and have tasted the sweet but also the bitter of life as a couple, I wonder what was the desire I had to get married?

And I answer: The desire was not mine. I ended up letting myself be carried away by the social pressure that makes women think that after a certain age, if you have not married, you are no longer single but spinster and that is a very bad thing. Bad for whom? Bad for people who expect you to fulfill your role as wife, mother, grandmother…
