Ingredients

  • 1 liter of pasteurized semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 jar of yogurt (approximately 150 g to 200 g)
  • 60 grams of skimmed milk powder

Preparation

Step 1. Heat

The first thing you should do is pour the liter of milk into a pot. Immediately, you should put it to heat; the idea is not that it is hot, but warm so the best way to measure this is that you can stick a finger in it for several seconds without burning yourself. Meanwhile, start mixing the jar of yogurt (which can be plain or vanilla) in a separate bowl, along with the powdered milk. Mix these ingredients until there is not a single lump left.

Step 2. Mix

At this point, you’ll need to take the yogurt mixture you made at the end of the previous step and pour it into the warm milk. Stir this milk very well. Now, wrap this pot in a cloth and take it to your oven for 8 to 12 hours because the idea is that it does not lose temperature and activate the micro bacteria in the yogurt. After this time, take the pot with your yogurt and pass it through a very fine cloth, having a strainer and a container below. The important thing here will be to drain the liquid. Get rid of all the yellow liquid that the yogurt released after straining it, and keep what was left in the cloth filter. Ready, this Greek yogurt will be ready to accompany your meals.
