Colombian cyclist was scolded for showing a sign against Duque

A Colombian cyclist was scolded for showing a sign with a message against the Government in the valid of the BMX World Cup that took place in Bogotá.

There are many things that have happened during the last month in the country. Since last April 28, the date on which an indefinite National Strike was declared, thousands of Colombians have taken to the streets, some to protest against the Government, against some reforms and to show their rejection of violent actions that, protesters accuse, the National Police committed. Many others have also come out to support President Iván Duque, the forces of order and his entire work team.

This public order situation has left curious images, such as the one that showed a policeman and truckers who put together a soccer match in the middle of the National Strike. Now, an athlete in full international broadcast showed her disagreement and supported the strike by showing a sign, although she was scolded by the organization.

During the past weekend, the tracks of Parque Recreodeportivo El Salitre received one more stop from the BMX World Cup. The participation of Mariana Pajón was the great attraction of the event. What no one expected is that Paola Parra was the protagonist of it, because while the cameras of the broadcast that is broadcast to more than 100 countries in the world focused on her, she took out a sign with a message against President Duque.

The young cyclist, who competed in the sub-23 category and won the bronze medal in the event, revealed a handmade sign that read: “Duke, please do not forget articles 2, 3, 11, 12, 40, 51, 63 and 67 of the political constitution of Colombia. Postscript: see you in the elections”.

Of course, this political position did not sit well with the organizers, who through the delegate gathered the Colombian athletes to tell them, according to Parra, that the event was not the right place to protest. Through a publication on her social networks, Paola expressed what happened to her from her point of view and she was quite upset by the delegate’s attitude:
