It’s Monday. We must get out of bed to face the world of work or school. And perhaps that causes us a dose of anxiety, depression or stress, so it is important to learn new methods that help us regulate and master these negative emotions, and thus start the week with motivation and balance. Exercising, having a healthy breakfast, and meditating are just some of the basic activities to enjoy on a Monday.
In case you are just starting out in the art of meditation, these tips will help you start the day with this practice:
– Find the right method for you. Whether you have your attention fixed on a point –such as your breath–, imagine the light of a candle or pay attention to your bodily sensations, any method that works for you to meditate will be adequate. If the thoughts continue, return your attention to what works for you.
– Discover your place. That space in which you feel comfortable just being, is the one. Maybe it’s a corner of the sofa or a space on the floor in the bedroom, just choose one that you feel really comfortable in.
– Spend time in that place to decorate it as your personal space. Use candles, images, objects or plants. It is your space and only you can decorate it to your liking.
– Sit, straight, in that place. When you sit there, keep your spine straight to facilitate meditation. And if you do it regularly, that site will give you positive feelings, so much so that you will want to do it again.
– When you wake up, meditate. Allow yourself that the first thing you do each morning is meditate – even before checking social networks, reading the news or making coffee. You will learn that it is a small gift every morning. It even accompanies meditation with a series of simple stretches.
