5 delicious homemade scrubs with salt and sugar

Salt and sugar scrubs are treatments that really work, and they are the easiest to do. Not only is slathering on olive oil and sugar oozing pleasurable, but the exfoliating factor leaves your skin feeling refreshed and vibrant, as well as super soft and smelling good.

But one of the big mysteries is why they cost so much in stores, when it’s really cheap to make them. Making them at home also saves you all those polluting packaging and you make sure that the ingredients are of good quality and do not have chemicals in them.

Sugar Banana Scrub

When the plantains are starting to turn black they are perfect for this recipe. Instead of using oil, banana has all the benefits of softening the skin.

– 1 ripe banana

– 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar

– ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract or your favorite essential oil.

Mix the ingredients together with a fork (don’t over puree it as it will get very thin). If you want to use it on your face, save some banana and mash it without sugar. In the shower, place the mixture on your skin and massage all over your body. Rinse with lukewarm water.

Oil and sugar scrub

This is the easiest of all, and it is really efficient in leaving the skin soft and radiant.

– 3 parts granulated sugar

– 1 part olive oil

– 15 or 20 drops of your favorite essential oil

Combine the ingredients and mix well. Smear them on your foot during the bath and rinse with lukewarm water.

Coconut and Brown Sugar Scrub

Coconut oil has a very subtle fragrance and is a super moisturizer.

– 1/2 cup coconut oil

– 1/2 cup of brown or brown sugar

– 1/2 tablespoon of vanilla

Mix the ingredients. Massage them over your body in the shower and rinse.

Lavender and salt scrub

This is one of the best products to heal dry skin and leave it smelling delicious.

– 1/2 cup of whole sea salt

– 1/3 cup grapeseed, jojoba, almond or coconut oil

– 1 tablespoon dried lavender

– 10 to 16 drops of lavender essential oil

Mix the ingredients and use the scrub in the shower or tub. Rinse.
