One study compared 10 famous men with the perfect face with Leonardo Da Vinci’s beauty model and see the results.
The Vitruvian Man or Study of the ideal proportions of the human body is a famous drawing accompanied by anatomical notes by Leonardo da Vinci made around the year 1490 in one of his diaries.
It represents a nude male figure in two superimposed positions of arms and legs and inscribed in a circle and a square.
The proportions described by Vitruvius for the face and head are:
- The face, from the chin to the highest part of the forehead, where the roots of the hair are, measures one tenth of the total height of the individual.
- The head, from the chin to the crown of the head, measures one eighth of the whole body.
- From the middle of the chest to the crown, a quarter of the entire body.
- From the chin to the base of the nose, measure a third of the face.
- The forehead also measures another third of the face.
